During the week from February 10th to 14th, our second-grade classes experienced a very special challenge: "English only" was the motto of the English language week. Throughout this week, English was the only language spoken – every hour, every day!
Our trainers, Amelia and Richard, focused on encouraging the students to speak only English. Their goal was to motivate the students, regardless of their English level, to use the English language in a playful way and become more confident.
The week was packed with exciting and fun activities. The students dove into the English language by reading, writing, and even cooking together. They played fun language games, practiced acting and let their creativity flow through various projects. Physical activities were also part of the week, with all instructions given in English, helping students express themselves better in various contexts.
While not all students were equally skilled in English, many of them overcame their shyness and dared to step outside their comfort zones. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere gave students the courage to speak more freely. Every day, it was clear that the students’ confidence in their English abilities was growing.
The English language week was not only an opportunity to improve English skills but also a great experience for personal development. The students learned not just about the English language, but also about themselves. Many discovered new strengths and walked away from the week with greater self-confidence.
We are proud of our students and look forward to many more exciting language projects!
